Your Questions, Answered

What is the process after I submit my claim?

After you file your claim (VA Form 21-526EZ) online at VA.gov, the VA reviews the claim then orders DBQ(s) in VBMS. The contractor (Loyal Source) then calls/texts you to schedule the appointment.

Can I choose Flagship Health & Wellness to complete my service-connected disability claims?

Yes. You can pick our veteran-owned clinic under the Mission Act. Just tell VA and Loyal Source: “Please schedule my DBQ(s) at Flagship Health and Wellness located in McKinney, TX.”

What if I miss my appointment?

Call Loyal Source within 24 hrs at 833-832-7077. They can reschedule within the same week. Miss twice? VA may deny claim until you show.

What is an IMO or Nexus Letter and do I need one?

An Independent Medical Opinion (IMO) is a formal written opinion from a licensed clinician that establishes or strengthens the medical connection between your condition and your military service. Veterans often need one when their claim is denied for lack of nexus, when the VA's own examiner provided an unfavorable opinion, or when preparing an appeal. Unlike a C&P exam ordered by the VA, an IMO is evidence you control — you commission it, you own it, and you submit it as part of your claim record.

Can I bring my spouse or buddy statement?

Absolutely. You can also bring any medical documents you have on hand that can help your disability claim. We scan & upload it, then it becomes official evidence in VBMS.

When do I get to see my DBQ(s)?

Expect to see DBQ evidence in your VA's Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS) 7–14 days post-exam, with full content access in 2–4 weeks.
